About
Hi, I am Matt.
If you’re looking for something regularly updated, this isn’t it. See my tumblr.
matt.nthng, originally Citadel79, started way back in 2004 as a place for my thoughts. This quickly became a place to rant and proceeded into a downward spiral of neglection. The new site was first a test and a learning experience in xhtml compliance and CSS, and had no real aim. It is now a personal blog about no real topic and aimed at no real target audience - a page rank nightmare. It is for this reason there are no ads or marketing techniques. This wasn’t designed to make money or be popular, mearly to be a place to make a public comment on anything I am thinking about.
If you’re feeling distressed from the lack of consistency, you can expect a lot of random rants, thoughts about music I’m currently listening to, posts about the web and web development and occasional lucasarts adventure game nostagia in the future.
If that sounds interesting enough for you to continue reading, you will now hear a little about myself. I am currently studying physics at the University of Surrey in the UK. I have major interests in Science and hope to advance in an interdisciplinary field, such as biophysics in the future.
I love music. I listen to lots and greatly appreciate hearing and giving recommendations from, and to people. I’m generally very open minded when it comes to music and genres. Currently I listen to a great deal of electronic, indie-pop and post-rock.
My passion is to draw and illustrate, I have always found it very relaxing and can spend hours doodling. I’ve been a keen photographer, but unfortunately don’t find as much time as I would like to take pictures in the recent months.
I spend too much time on the internet and watch a large amount of TV. If I were to have a conversation with one person about TV, pop-culture and the web, it would be Charlie Brooker.
